PeKANBARU - Riau Governor Syamsuar who ended his tenure as Riau leader and will run as a member of the DPR in the 2024 General Election said goodbye to the ranks within the Riau Government.

"Today I am ending my duties as Governor of Riau and the one who will replace as official governor of Riau is Deputy Governor of Riau Edy Natar Nasution for some time. I will move to participate in the 2024 DPR RI elections," said Syamsuardi in front of the Riau Provincial Government. reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.

He said that while carrying out his duties as governor for more than four years, he was proud of the ranks of the Riau Provincial Government who had worked hard in carrying out their responsibilities and did not forget on his personal behalf to apologize for mistakes and mistakes during social time.

Syamsuar will always support Riau Deputy Governor Edy Nasution until the end, namely December 31, 2023, because the task he carries is a noble task concerning the welfare of the community.

"Thank you to all ranks of the Riau Provincial Government, I am proud of your performance achievements. Hopefully this performance will become a charity of worship in the side of God Almighty," he said.

He said, thanks to the cohesiveness so far, he was able to advance the Riau area. If there is something that needs to be discussed, Syamsuar stated that he was ready to discuss it.

Previously, Riau Governor Syamsuar said goodbye to the Riau Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda). Apart from saying goodbye to Riau Governor Syamsuar, he also apologized to Riau Forkopimda and regional heads throughout Riau.

"As an ordinary human being, of course, it cannot be separated from mistakes. Therefore, I apologize to the Riau Forkopimda and regional heads in Riau. On November 3, 2023, it was my last day serving as regional head, therefore I thank the Forkopimda, Mr. Regent, Deputy Regent," he said.

Riau Police Chief, Inspector General M Iqbal expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Governor Syamsuar. He also said that during his leadership as Governor of Syamsuar, Riau was successful in making Riau progress.

"On behalf of the Riau Regional Police, we would like to express our gratitude for Pak Syamsuar's dedication in bringing Riau forward. Because in terms of criminology theory, if an area progresses, the number of crimes will also decrease," he said.

Danrem 031/Wirabima Brigadier General Dany Cakra also said that although he had only served for six months in Riau, his party together with the Army staff appreciated the performance of Riau Governor Syamsuar so far.

"We, together with the ranks of the Indonesian Army, would like to thank and appreciate the Governor of Riau Syamsuar for his performance so far. We have collaborated and are running well," he said.

Wakajati Riau, Hendrizal Husin, who was also present at the meeting, said that the Riau Forkopimda had been coordinating under the control of Riau Governor Syamsuar was good enough so that if there were problems in the regions, they could be resolved immediately.
