Busy Schedule, Cak Imin Considers Resigning From Deputy Speaker Of The DPR During Campaign

JAKARTA - The candidate for vice president (cawapres) of the Change Coalition, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, said that he would apply for leave and even be ready to resign as the leader of the DPR, if the upcoming campaign schedule was very busy. Cak Imin currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI for People's Welfare (Kesra) for the 2019-2024 period.. "If we look at it too crowded, maybe I applied for leave, or maybe there may be no problem," said Cak Imin while attending the inauguration and declaration of Indonesian Youth (AMI) in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, November 2. However, Cak Imin admits that he is still considering the application for leave and resignation. Because according to him, as long as it is still possible to divide the time, the duties as the leadership of the DPR will be coordinated with other leaders. "It is still a consideration if I can still share my time, I will continue to share my duties with other DPR leaders," said Cak Imin.

It is known that the 2024 Presidential Election campaign schedule will last for 75 days. This is based on the General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) Number 15 of 2023. The regulation states that limited meetings, face-to-face meetings, the distribution of campaign materials to the public, the installation of campaign props in public places, debate of pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates will be held from 28 November to 10 February 2024.
