JAKARTA - Turkey and Iran do not want the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinians to expand, emphasizing the importance of a ceasefire and permanent peace, criticizing the United States and Western allies, as foreign ministers of the two countries meet.

"First of all, we continue to seek a ceasefire, then permanent peace," Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told reporters in a press statement with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, quoted by the Daily Sabah November 2.

"Solution is a must that is accepted by Palestine and countries in the region," continued Foreign Minister Fidan.

On that occasion, Foreign Minister Fidan reiterated that Turkey is ready to take responsibility and become a guarantor in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He said Turkey supports a two-state solution to the conflict, but also emphasizes every country in the region to contribute to the process.

"We need both sides to make some concessions to reach an agreement, and they must keep their promises," he explained.

Furthermore, Foreign Minister Fidan also criticized Western stances on the Gaza conflict, condemning double standards for Palestine and Ukraine.

"If we want a fair world, we must always act with integrity and consistency. However, the European Union does not want to hear the word'resolution' because of its position next to the US, which is determined by Israel," explained Fidan.

Foreign Minister Fidan stressed that the West "lost its moral superior attitude" and "out of all reasons for suppression (by Israel)."

"We don't want humanitarian dramas in Gaza to develop into war that has an impact on regional countries. Therefore, we invite all actors inside and outside the region to promote fair and permanent peace," he exclaimed.

"We want an immediate ceasefire, but without the success of a permanent solution, problems will arise again. Israel and the West must accept this reality: They must agree to a solution that will satisfy the Palestinian people. Otherwise, this cycle of violence will continue. Ceasefire and peace are becoming more important than ever before," said Foreign Minister Fidan.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian said they appreciated the proposal of Turkey's guarantee and thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdobulan.

"We assess any proposals that will prevent widespread conflict and will restore the rights of the Palestinian people," he said.

He further said Israel, the US, and "supporters of war crimes will be responsible if the situation becomes uncontrollable as long as war is unstoppable."

"The Zionist regime continues to carry out massacres without discrimination, using all banned weapons that violate international law," he explained.

Abdollahian said the consequences would be very heavy if the attacks on Gaza continued and those supporting this war, "this crime" would bear heavy consequences.

It is known that Middle Eastern countries have warned that violence could become uncontrollable and stressed the need for joint efforts to stop Israeli massacres in Gaza.

Highlighting the opening of the Rafah border between Egypt and Gaza on Wednesday for foreign nationals to leave, Foreign Minister Fidan said they had also contacted relevant authorities for the departure of Turkish citizens in Gaza.

"We are in contact with Egypt and Israel on this issue," he said.
