Danny Pomanto Considers PLN Responsible For Fire

Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto (Danny Pomanto) hopes that PLN must have social responsibility in the midst of rotating blackouts and fire hazards.

"The impact of the initial power outage was the fire incident that occurred last night at SMPN 8, caused by a short circuit in the fan that was not turned off during a rotating blackout," Danny Pomanto said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 31.

He said, during school activities all the devices including fans and others were on. Then the lights went out for 4 hours and all went home. After that, the electricity turned on, the device that was not turned off was turned back on.

This was the cause of sparks and fire.

"I think the solution is that PLN must have social responsibility. We don't understand how to go up or down, who knows. Sometimes the stress goes down, it breaks," he explained.

"PLN can provide intelligence to the entire community if necessary, help to diagnose cables that are already vulnerable. This community doesn't know. Let alone my people, I don't know which cable is good or not," he hoped.

He didn't want this to happen again. Moreover, the day before, the fire also claimed two victims; mother and child.

"I think this is enough for two victims, I'm very sad even though people are entrusted to their in-laws, so I'm really sad to hear, especially the story of saving the child," he said.

Danny Pomanto wants PLN's attitude to be balanced. Among the blackouts, there must also be education, on the other hand, if people slow down to pay, the community will also be given sanctions.
