JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR approved the draft General Election Commission (PKPU) regulation regarding the nomination of presidential and vice presidential election participants in a hearing (RDP).

The approval of Commission II was taken with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the KPU, the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), and the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP).

"Agreeing with the draft General Election Commission (PKPU) Regulation on amendments to PKPU Number 19 of 2023 concerning the nomination of presidential and vice presidential election participants," said Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia, while reading the conclusion of the meeting reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 31.

In addition, it was also approved by the draft Bawaslu Regulation (Perbawaslu), namely the Draft Perbawaslu regarding the supervision of the nomination of presidential and vice presidential election participants, and the Draft Perbawaslu regarding the supervision of general election campaign funds.

"With a note that the KPU and Bawaslu RI pay attention to notes and input from members of Commission II of the DPR RI, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the DKPP RI," said Doli.

Commission II of the DPR RI held an RDP which scheduled consultations on the adjustment of KPU Regulations Based on the Constitutional Court Decision Number 90/PUU- XXV/2023 and Consulting on the Draft Bawaslu Regulation.

Previously, the KPU had stipulated KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 19 of 2023 concerning Candidates for the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections. The KPU also stipulates the requirements for prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates.
