Not Only Bahlil, Djarot Disbursed Politicians Who Encouraged The Discourse Of The President For 3 Periods

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat said there were a number of politicians who participated in voicing the extension of the presidential term from two to three terms.

This was conveyed by Djarot in response to the statement of the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia who said the request came from him not from other parties. Including, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as stated by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto.

"Oh, yes, good," said Djarot in response to Bahlil's statement, Monday, October 30.

However, Djarot said the request was mentioned by a number of parties such as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, to Chairman of PAN Zulkifli Hasan. Djarot is skeptical of Bahlil's statement.

"The idea itself is a lot," quipped the member of the DPR RI.

Djarot said that PDIP actually sniffed out organized efforts to encourage the postponement of elections and the extension of the presidential term.

Therefore, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri recently decided to stop the discourse on limited amendments because it was dangerous.

"Stop, don't talk about limited amendments anymore, because it is dangerous and can be used as an entrance, spread to other articles. That's why we stop," he said.

As previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto confirmed the statement of his party cadre, Adian Napitupulu regarding President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) request to extend his term of office. As a result, the former governor of DKI Jakarta has now changed course in a political decision.

Hasto said there was one minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet who said that the village head wanted the discourse of a three-term presidential term to be carried out. He has also clarified this.

Later, Hasto's statement was denied by the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia. He emphasized that he was the first person to raise the issue of increasing President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) term and postponing the 2024 General Election.

"I just arrived general (Prabowo Subianto), in the media talking about three terms. He said it was on someone's orders. I want to tell you, the first issue of postponement of the election was Bahlil Lahadalia. Open it in all media. And I have never been ruled by anyone," said Bahlil at the Declaration of State Administrators at Djakarta Theater XXI, Jakarta, Saturday, October 28.
