JAKARTA - The Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora) celebrates its 4th anniversary in a simple manner which coincides with Youth Pledge Day on October 28, 2023.

The commemoration was held online on Saturday (28/10) night, followed by all administrators and functions of DPN, MPN, DPW and DPD Gelora Party throughout Indonesia.

The 4th anniversary, which took the theme "Young, Bergelora and Empowered", was held with the concept of watching together (nobar) which was followed by the younger generation of the Gelora Party.

The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Gelora Party Mahfud Sidik conveyed the reason why he chose the theme "Young, Bergelora and Empowered" in his 4th Anniversary.

Meanwhile, Deputy General Chair Fahri Hamzah, on this occasion, read out the Political Manifesto of the Indonesian Gelora Party.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Gelora Party delivered a political speech responding to the political manifesto read by Fahri Hamzah, as well as his views on the role of the younger generation in the current crisis situation.

On this occasion, the Gelora Party also introduced a new cadre, namely Siti Widoretno, who is familiarly called Neno Warisman or Bunda Neno.

Neno Warisman was promoted as a candidate for the legislature of the East Java III constituency Gelora Party (dapil) covering the Banyuwangi, Situbondo and Bondowoso areas.

The declarator of the #2019 movement to replace the President is ready to win the presidential candidate pair (candidate)-candidate for vice president (cawapres) Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

In this 4th Anniversary, the Gelora Party received special congratulations from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who became vice presidential candidates for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) in pairs with presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

President Jokowi in his video hopes that the Gelora Party will provide freshness in national politics by presenting new narratives and constructive ideas for democratic life in Indonesia.

"Let's build a political culture that maintains unity for the progress of the nation. Happy fourth birthday to the general chairman, the board and the entire extended family of the Gelora Party wherever they are," said Jokowi.

A similar hope was also conveyed by the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, in the video congratulating the 4th Anniversary of the Gelora Party.

Gibran also hopes that the Gelora Party will become part of a pleasant democracy in Indonesia, bringing together all differences in the name of the Indonesian nation.

"Happy birthday Gelora Party, in this fourth year it continues to grow to be part of a pleasant democracy in Indonesia, a political narrative of optimism as the spirit of youth oath. Namely uniting all differences in the name of the Indonesian nation. Once again happy birthday to the Gelora Party," said Gibran.

Secretary General of the Gelora Party Mahfuz Sidik said the selection of the theme "Young, Bergelora and Empowered" ahead of the 2024 General Election, because the Gelora Party was founded to coincide with Youth Pledge Day, precisely on October 28, 2019.

"We want to take the spirit of the struggle of young people to realize the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. We want to revive and strengthen the fighting spirit of young people ahead of the 2024 General Election," he said.

This is important to do, because 13,800 candidates from the Gelora Party are young, 65 percent of whom are under 40 years old. This effort received a positive response from the public, which played a role for the younger generation to participate in coloring Indonesian politics.

"When supporting Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate, then we find a historical destiny, that the vice president is a young person. When many people attack, we can't play games, let alone test with young candidates, because they can't afford it. In fact, this gives us confidence, that this is the time for young people to lead Indonesia," said Mahfuz.

Neno Warisman said that Indonesia's future belongs to young people now, not parents, so it is necessary to give them more space to play a role. Because young people have the ability to surpass their parents.

"I learned a lot from my millennial sons and daughters. I came to know that this young man does not have his parents, but has his own young people. Give confidence to young people, because they are far beyond us, who are old," said Neno Warisman.

On this occasion, Neno Warisman read the poem with the theme "Love" in commemoration of the 4th Anniversary and the Commemoration of the 95th Youth Pledge Day of 2023. In this poem, Neno Warisman satirized that the role of young people was often restrained by political battles, where his voice was only contested, but no role was given.

"My heart, oh my friend, oh my friend, this is a beautiful 1460 day love of my heart. When you ask to write a poem from the love story in our 1460 days... We will remain silent to each other, I am blue and you are red and white. I love you my lover, 278 million eyes and heart 278 million hungry mouths, 278 million who already live without the right road map. 278 million who live in fear and have no great narrative should have, you are considered only numbers and are up for grabs," said Neno.
