Bey Machmudin Writes To Central Java Provincial Government About Kertajati Airport

BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java (Jabar) Bey Sapi Machmudin admitted that he had written to the Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) regarding West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in Majalengka Regency.

Bey said that his party asked the Central Java Provincial Government (Central Java) to be willing to use BIJB Kertajati for their state civil servants (ASN) around Kertajati Airport.

"For West Java Province ASN, it has been given a circular. In fact, I also sent a letter to the Central Java Provincial Government to be willing to use Kertajati for the nearest area, so I hope that because of the close distance, (such as) from Brebes from those areas using Kertajati," said Bey, in Soreang, Bandung Regency, reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.

However, Bey emphasized that this is also if there are flight routes available, including for West Java ASNs who are required to use BIJB Kertajati.

"But if it's not there, don't force it, for example, if you don't want to go to Manado, don't force it from Kertajati, don't be a high cost if there is a route, please," he said.

Bey also reiterated that the Persib Bandung football club has committed to departing away from BIJB Kertajati.

"Persib has committed to departing from Kertajati as long as there is a purpose," he said.

On October 29, 2023, all jet-engined aircraft from Husein Sastranegara Airport will be transferred to BIJB Kertajati in line with the complete operational certainty of these facilities.

On October 29, 2023, there will be seven jet flight routes that will move from Husein Airport to Kertajati, namely flights to and from Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Batam, Denpasar, Makassar, Medan and Palembang, airlines serving AirAsia, Super Air Jet to Citilink flights. Airport operators schedule daily operating routes.
