KENDARI - A PLN officer was rushed to the Kendari City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) because he was electrocuted at the Puri Mutiara Housing Complex Block A3, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra), today at around 11.45 WITA.
Kendari Police Chief Kombes Muhammad Eka Fathurrahman said the PLN officer's work accident began when the victim was carrying out maintenance of electrical cables in the housing complex.
"When the victim checked the power cable and wanted to install a cable wrapper on the power pole, the victim was suddenly electrocuted," said Eka Fathurrahman in Kendari as quoted by Antara, Friday, October 20.
He mentioned that at that time the victim immediately fainted and was hanging over an electric cable.
"The victim's colleagues who were under an electric pole tried to lower the victim by pushing the victim's body using a wooden stick until he fell," he said.
The victim was immediately picked up and rushed to the Kendari City Hospital for medical treatment. "Currently the victim is still being treated at the ICU at the Kendari City Hospital," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Communications and TJSL Manager of PLN UID Sulselbar Ahmad Amirul Syarif added that his party was concerned and condolences for the work accident.
"The work aims to improve services to customers in terms of improving voltage," said Ahmad.
He said that currently PLN, the Kendari Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) is still investigating the incident.
He revealed that PLN is also committed to helping the needs of victims and their families.
"PLN also asks for prayers to the community so that the officers are in good condition," he said.
Ahmad also appealed to PLN officers to take better care of their safety at work. "PLN always appeals to officers regarding safety in their work," he added.
