Sidoarjo Police, East Java arrested two women suspected of breaking into empty houses whose occupants had left them at several locations in Sidoarjo Regency.

Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro said the two women who were arrested had the initials EW and also SW.

"The perpetrator was considered reckless because he committed the theft targeting the house where the occupants left. Four times both of them carried out the crime," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 19.

At the fourth location, the two perpetrators were arrested by police officers. The perpetrator broke into SH's house in Gunang Village, Prambong District.

Then in September 2023 at the house of Jatikalang Village, Prambong with the proceeds of theft in the form of cash amounting to Rp27 million and gold jewelry in the form of two gold rings along with a purchase letter from Gajah Mas Shop.

Furthermore, in October 2023 at the house of Kenongo Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo, with the proceeds of theft in the form of three gold jewelry keroncong bracelets along with a purchase letter from Gajah Mas shop.

"The motive for the perpetrators to commit theft is to fulfill the needs of life and pay debts. The suspect is threatened with a sentence of Article 363 paragraphs 1 to 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 9 years in prison," he said.
