Police Issue SKCK Erick Thohir, PAN: Ready Umbrella Before Rain

JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) responded to rumors that SOE Minister Erick Thohir was a candidate for vice president (Cawapres) Prabowo Subianto after the issuance of a Police Record Certificate (SKCK) and a Certificate of Never Sentenced recently.

Chairman of the DPP PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay said that every citizen is allowed to take care of the SKCK because there are various benefits of managing the letter. Including preparing for the administrative needs of electoral registration.

"SKCK has many benefits. So, it's not wrong if people take care of it. Because there is a validity period, people can also take care of it and save it. If at any time it is necessary, it will no longer be a hassle to take care of it," said Saleh, Wednesday, October 18.

Regarding SKCK and the completeness of other files handled by Erick Thohir, according to him, there is no need to question it too far. Because Saleh said, the management must have a purpose. In fact, it could be explicitly for the completeness of the cawapres filing.

"If Mr. Erick takes care of the SKCK and other files, that's normal. There's no need to discuss it too deeply. It's okay for him to take care of the SKCK. Let's prepare the candidacy file," he said.

It is known that the letter was handled by Erick Thohir ahead of the opening of the presidential and vice presidential candidates registration to the General Elections Commission on October 19 tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Erick is one of the names that is widely mentioned as being partnered with Prabowo Subianto as a vice presidential candidate.

The chairman of the PAN faction in the DPR said that Erick Thohir still had the opportunity to become a vice presidential candidate. Therefore, according to him, there is no need to question the SKCK management and other completeness of files.

"Let's just do the saying, 'Sedia Payung Before Rain'. If later necessary, it will be there," he said.
