Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD asked that the conflict in Muntilan, Magelang Regency, Central Java, be resolved legally. "(The conflict in Muntilan) must be resolved legally," said Mahfud MD after giving a public lecture on "Democracy with dignity Towards Golden Indonesia 2045" at Airlangga University, Surabaya, East Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, October 16. Mahfud said the law upheld by the Indonesian nation was peace and togetherness with the way of deliberation. Therefore, he continued, all forms of disputes and disputes should be resolved by deliberation. "If you can make peace, yes, make peace. Otherwise, yes, take it to the legal process," he said. The conflict that led to clashes took place in Muntilan, Magelang Regency, Central Java, last Sunday involving the masses of two groups. Magelang Police Chief Kombes Ruruh Wicaksono explained that the chronology of the incident was originally caused by activities from a group in Magelang Regency from morning to 15.00 WIB. "After the activity was completed, when he returned home, one of these groups came into contact with another group. Then, there was a misunderstanding until there was friction in the field," explained Ruruh.

However, Ruruh admitted that the conflict had been resolved until Sunday night with mediation facilitated by the Magelang Police. "We are still collecting data on the damage, there are no casualties, and there are no reports of injuries," said Ruruh.
