Regarding 12 SYL Firearms, Police: Not All Of Them Have Been Identified

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that 12 firearms (senpi) found from the official residence of the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL have not been fully identified. The Intelligence and Security Agency (Baintelkam) is still tracing the legality of the senpi. "So not all weapons can be clearly identified, therefore we want to confirm and wait for the results," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Shandi Nugroho to reporters, Friday, October 13. However, it was not detailed how many weapons have been and have not been identified. It was only conveyed, Baintelkam Polri will trace the legality based on the database. "(Identification) From the type of weapons, number of weapons, whether registered in the database of the National Police Headquarters or not," he said.Shandi said that when the identification process was completed, the results would be submitted immediately. "Later, if we have complete data, we will convey it," said Shandi. Meanwhile, the dozens of senpi are the findings of the KPK which are the results of searches on 28-29 September 2023.

Originally, dozens of guns were handed over to the Polda Metro Jaya. Shortly thereafter, the handling was withdrawn to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. It is known, several guns were found from the SYL official residence of the S&W, Walther, Tanfoglio, and others.
