Syahrul Yasin Limpo And Family Prevented Overseas Due To Corruption Cases At The Ministry Of Agriculture, KPK Reminds Cooperatives

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo and his family to cooperate in undergoing legal processes related to allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

This warning was given after they were submitted to the list of prevention of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).

"KPK reminds these parties to cooperate in following this legal process," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Friday, October 6.

This cooperative attitude, continued Ali, can be shown by fulfilling the summons scheduled by investigators.

As for the corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture, nine people were prevented, including Syahrul. Ali did not specify who they were but the information circulating was the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono; Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta; and the Head of the Organization and Personnel Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture Zulkifli.

Furthermore, there is also the Director of Pupuk and Pesticide of the Ministry of Agriculture Tommy Nugraha; Head of the General Bureau and Procurement of the Ministry of Agriculture Sukim Supandi. Then Syahrul Ayun Sri Harahap's wife who works as a doctor was also prevented.

Information also mentions that Syahrul's son, Chunda Thita, who is a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, was also prevented from leaving the country. Syahrul's grandson, A. Tenri said Radisyah Melati was also prohibited from traveling from Indonesia.

"This prevention submission is addressed to the Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for the first six months until April 2024 and can be extended according to the needs of the investigation," said Ali.

Previously reported, the KPK has raised the status of the investigation into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture to investigate. There are already suspects who have been named but no details have been given.

However, information circulated that the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, and Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta were dragged into this case.

In investigating this case, the anti-corruption commission has conducted a search. At the official residence of Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, investigators found Rp30 billion in cash consisting of rupiah denominations and foreign currencies and firearms.

Then, the search was continued at the Ministry of Agriculture's Office. As a result, documents related to the corruption case were found.

Most recently, investigators also visited Hatta's house in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. From the forced effort, Rp400 million was found.

Next, investigators also found an Audi A6 branded sedan that was confiscated by investigators. This car was obtained by investigators when they searched Syahrul's house in Makassar.

The findings obtained from the search are now being analyzed and confiscation will be carried out. Meanwhile, the findings of firearms were handed over to the police for follow-up.
