JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the DPP Association of Indonesian Village Government Apparatus (PAPDESI), Ganjar Pranowo, asked village heads to create a mentoring post to formulate important things to be accommodated in the Village Law.

Ganjar encourages village heads to cooperate with law enforcement officials to get legal assistance in taking policies in villages.

This was stated by Ganjar when opening the 2nd PAPDESI DPP national working meeting (Rakernas) with the theme 'Encourage the Government to Immediately Ratify Limited Revision of Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages'.

"I want technically there is a team from PAPDESI who prepares themselves, has a record, has experience, knows how, for posts. Assistance posts to resolve this law," said Ganjar at the SMESCO Building, Pancoran, South Jakarta, Tuesday (26/9/2023).

Ganjar explained that the post would later be used as a gathering place to discuss matters that were important to be accommodated in the Village Law. Including discussing government policies and the DPR if there are policies related to villages or regarding proposals for revision of the Village Law.

Also, so that the village head is ready to submit his proposals when there are meetings with the government and with the DPR. According to Ganjar, this post was proven effective and successful during the struggle period in the ratification of the Village Law. Ganjar played an important role in ratifying the Village Law when he was Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI.

"So when I discussed the Village Law, I asked for a post, three teams, shift. I told you where the meeting was, then every meeting was present, and communication took place, so thank God it went smoothly," said Ganjar.

Regarding the collaboration with law enforcement officials, Ganjar, who has the principle 'Mrku, O People', strongly supports this. According to Ganjar, this collaboration will calm the village heads when making policies.

"Actually, there are good ideas, capacity building, cooperation with law enforcement, training, all of that in my opinion is an important part so that corruption does not occur. And the management is really good with good governance, government at the village level, that's important," said Ganjar.

The former governor of Central Java for two periods also assessed the importance of trusting the village head to manage the village budget optimally. It also encourages innovation from every village in Indonesia.

"If the village has been given the regulatory apparatus, the budget has been given, give the trust to the village head. Innovation in the village is very good," said Ganjar.
