Grass And Plants At TPU Karet Bivak Damaged Not Because It Was Not Watered, But Due To Excessive Heat

JAKARTA - Droughts have been long since the last few months making buildings and plants in a number of graves in the Karet Bivak TPU Islamic Unit Block, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, are starting to dry up.

"The watering is routine, but the heat can't be stopped by the water that is doused into my body," said Nawi, one of the nurses at the Karet Bivak Cemetery to VOI, Friday, September 22.

Nawi said that the damage and drying of the tomb was not because there was no treatment. However, the water sprinkling process carried out was unable to withstand sunlight every day.

"This is not because it is not maintained, but the water supply is lacking. The water is less than hot (weather). Water is watered, but the weather is hot and pungent," he said.

Nawi explained that the watering should have been done in the morning and evening.

"Seharusnya 4 seret pagi dan 4 sereh sore. Penyuriman rutin, pagi dan sore. Sini penyeriman menggunakan air jet pump atau air tanah, yang tidak ada air PAM karena tidak ada salurannya," katanya.

According to him, the large number of dried grass at the tomb of the tomb has only happened this time in the Karet Bivak TPU area.

"This is the condition when it is dry, but this time it is worse," said the man who has been a nurse for this grave for 10 years.

A number of tombs of 45 fighters located in the Karet Bivak Islamic TPU Unit Block, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta were seen being damaged on Friday, September 22, afternoon.

Based on VOI's observation at the location, the tomb marked by an iron stake in the form of a red and white flag with a small sign that reads 'Fight 45' under the flag is the grave of a former 1945 fighter who died in seizing Indonesian independence.

"The one with the flag is the tomb of the 45 fighters, but not a great hero. He was only a fighter who fought and died in the 1945 era," said Ahmad Syafe'i, one of the tomb visitors to VOI at the Karet Bivak TPU location, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Friday, September 22.
