JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya will investigate the truth of the viral video regarding the circulation of'mutilation money'. Although, Bank Indonesia (BI) has stated that the video is fake news or hoax. "We will investigate whether it is hoax news or not," said Director of the Special Crime Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Friday, September 22. The mutilation money in question is money consisting of half as original and the other part is fake. Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Doni P Joewono had originally stated that the mutilation money was a hoax. The public is advised not to distribute the video to others. "I urge my friends to help what goes viral on TikTok is a hoax, so whoever receives it should not be continued," said Doni. Meanwhile, the issue of mutilation money began with a video that went viral on social media where a woman claimed to have received mutilation money.

In the video, you can see a piece of Rp100 thousand which was deliberately raided and re-enacted. After being reviewed, the color of the money being connected looks different.
