JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board (Dewas) stated that there were no violations committed by KPK Deputy Chair Johanis Tanak when contacting the Acting Director General of Mineral and Coal Idris Froyoto Sihite via text message. The decision was read out today, Thursday, September 21.
Johanis was declared not to have violated Article 4 paragraph (2) letters a and b of the Supervisory Board Number 03 of 2021 concerning Enforcement of the KPK Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct as alleged.
"To declare that Johanis Tanak's examination was not legally and convincingly proven guilty of violating the code of ethics and code of conduct," said Chairman of the Ethics Council Harjono at the KPK Council Office, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 21.
The KPK Council confirmed Johanis' conversation with officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Idris Sihite. A number of messages have also been deleted by him.
However, Johanis is considered not to have violated the rules. The KPK Council also assessed that the Commissioner of the Anti-corruption Agency did not fully respond to Idris.
In addition to deciding not to be guilty, the KPK Council also restored Johanis' dignity and good name. The decision was taken because no violations had occurred.
"Restoring the rights of the examinee, Johanis Tanak, in his abilities and dignity as well as in his original state," said Harjono.
