TIMIKA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri confirmed that the KKB did not control Oksibil, the capital of the Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua. This was conveyed by Fakhiri following a series of KKB attacks on civilians and police officers. "We still control the area and secure it so it is not true if someone says KKB controls it," said Fakhiri in Timika, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 19. The Papuan Police added a number of personnel to strengthen, including combing the presence of KKB groups at the location. Fakhiri emphasized that the KKB criminal act could not be left alone, so it had to be enforced by the rules. "The recurring incident in the Bintang Mountains area must be stopped immediately, especially since October has entered the preparations for the 2024 election," he said. Criminal groups that commit crimes against residents call themselves themselves 'Kodap 35 Bintang Timur.' This is a new group, a splinter of the KKB in Kiwirok.
