Chronology And Motives Of Son-in-law In North Sumatra Have The Heart To Kill And Rape In-laws

MEDAN - A man in Batubara Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) has the heart to kill a woman who is none other than his own father-in-law. The suspect strangled and raped the victim before he died. The suspect's motive was because of his mother-in-law's grudge that he was separated from his wife.

The suspect is known to be Sah Munir (45), a resident of Sukajaya Village, Tanjung Tiram District, Batubara Regency. Sah Munir was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Batubara Resort Police at his hiding place in the Tanah Karo Regency area last Sunday.

The suspect had to be paralyzed by officers with hot lead on his feet, for resisting and trying to escape when he was about to be arrested.

In front of the officers, the suspect admitted that he had committed the murder of Maimunah (52) who was his own father-in-law. The suspect admitted that his father-in-law killed his own father-in-law because he was hurt by being separated from his wife because he did not have a job.

Kasat Reskrim Polres Batubara, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Elisa Simare-Mare said the murder incident occurred on Friday, September 7, 2023 at the victim's house. At that time, the perpetrator came to the victim's house, who at that time lived alone and immediately beat the victim.

At that time the victim resisted, so the perpetrator strangled the victim and dragged the victim into the room. When the victim was weak, the suspect also raped the victim before the victim died.

After killing the victim, the suspect also took the victim's valuables, namely a motorcycle, cellphone, and jewelry.

"The criminal act committed by Sah Munir by hitting the victim and also sneering and then dragging the victim into the room, then the victim was then sexually assaulted by the suspect. After that, the suspect also took some of the items including earrings or jewelry of the victim's cellphone and motorcycle," said Elisa, Monday, September 18.

Elisa also revealed that the suspect's motive for committing the murder was because he was hurt by his wife's family because according to the suspect, his father-in-law was the cause of the suspect's separation from his wife after the suspect did not have a job.

"The suspect's motive is hurt and revenge for his wife's family. The suspect's relationship with the victim is between his son-in-law and his mother-in-law. For the sexual intercourse incident carried out by the victim's suspect, he is still conscious but helpless because the suspect covered his mouth," he explained.

Elisa said the suspect was a recidivist in a murder case. "The information is that the suspect, Sah Munir recidivist, has previously been detained in connection with a murder case as well," concluded Elisa.

In this case, officers confiscated a number of evidences, namely the victim's clothes, the suspect's clothes at the time of the murder and cellphone belonging to the victim.

To account for his actions, the suspect is now being held in a detention cell at the Batubara Police Headquarters. The suspect is threatened with Article 365 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code concerning theft accompanied by violence until the victim dies with a penalty of fifteen years in prison.
