PALU - Investigators from the Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office confiscated a number of plots of land, buildings and vehicles related to the investigation of suspected corruption cases at the International Publication and Collaborative Center (IPCC) Tadulako University Palu.

"The confiscated land and buildings are located on Jalan Ki Hajar Dewantoro, Jalan Lagarutu, Tanamodindi Village, Tondo Village and Lasoani Village, as well as one Toyota Calya vehicle," said Acting Head of Legal Information Section of the Central Sulawesi Attorney General's Office Abdul Haris Kiay, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.

He said the confiscation was carried out as an effort by investigators to save state financial losses based on the determination of the Chairman of the Palu District Court Number 19/PenPid.Sus-TPK-SITA/2023/PN Pal dated August 28, 2023 and a warrant for the confiscation of the Head of the Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office Number Print-42/P.2.5/Fd.1/07 2023 dated July 24, 2023.

"Previously, investigators also confiscated gadgets, TV smarts, iPhones from witnesses who were considered responsible for the IPCC Untad case," he explained.

The Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office has previously raised the status of the alleged corruption case of IPCC Untad from investigation to investigation stage.

In handling this case, if the evidence and testimony from the witness have been fulfilled, investigators will immediately determine the suspect.

"Investigators have summoned more than 20 Untad officials and lecturers for questioning regarding the case, including the rector and two former Untad rectors," said Haris.

The examination was carried out based on a Campus Care Group (KPK) report on allegations of corruption based on BPK RI findings, as contained in the 2021 Financial Report Results on Financial Reports (LHP-LK) at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, with a state loss value of more than Rp. 1.7 billion.

In addition, there were also similar findings originating from the results of the examination by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology regarding domestic official travel and fictitious activities worth Rp. 574 million.

"Basically, the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office works professionally in handling this case," added Haris
