WEST BANDUNG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Java Province coordinated with the Citarum River Basin Center to prepare the mud needed to open roads for firefighters at the Surimukti TPA in West Bandung Regency.

"Later, we will use mud from the Citarum River, then create about three routes, which we will cover in mud," said West Java BPBD Chief Executive Dani Ramdan at the Sarimukti TPA as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 12.

"Approximately 40 trucks are ready (to be used) every day to provide mud," he said.

BPBD has also coordinated with the TNI, Polri, and the Fire Department to block the road at the Sarimukti TPA which is difficult to pass by vehicles after the fire broke out.

"Blocking the route for unit car access to enter the TPA, because during this fire it is difficult (to pass)," he said.

In addition, BPBD plans to carry out a water bombing using helicopters to speed up the fire extinguishing at the Surimukti TPA.

"Indeed (the helicopter) is still needed. Only yesterday (only) because the emergency response was considered complete, the helicopter was first withdrawn. Now, we are submitting again (the request for helicopter assistance) because after all it can separate the hotspots," said Dani.

According to him, until the 25th day the fire area of land burned at TPA Sarimukti was around 16.5 hectares.

Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin said that the hoarding of the road using mud is expected to accelerate efforts to extinguish fires in the garbage shelter.

"Hopefully this mud will really (can) make sure the fire goes out," said Bey.
