JAKARTA - A member of the Indonesian Army, First Lieutenantani GDW, who was driving a vehicle against the direction of the Flyover, Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) Toll Road, Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday (9/9) was experiencing psychological problems.

The 29-year-old man from the Yonkav 7/Pragosa Satya Kodam Jaya Unit caused a series of seven car accidents on the flyover toll road.

"Lettu GDW has a history of illness, psychological conditions are also not healthy and are under unit supervision," said Head of Information for Kodam Jaya, Lt. Col. Inf. Herbeth Andi Amino Sinaga during a press conference at Ridwan Meuraksa Hospital, East Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 11.

While driving his car since Fajr, GDW did not have permission from his unit. "On Saturday (9/9) the person concerned left. What is clear is that in Fajr time he left driving a car without permission from his unit," he said.

"This means that without permission, including the leadership. Well, this is what he went, which eventually resulted in a traffic accident (traffic accident), crashing into seven vehicles at MBZ, on the flyover," said Herbeth.

His party has not been able to examine First Lieutenant GDW because he is still undergoing intensive treatment at the Gatot Subroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Jakarta.

However, investigators have examined witnesses and completed the evidence in the crime scene (TKP).

"Because of the health factor, the person concerned has not been able to provide information. He is currently being treated at the RSPAD," he said.

Military Police Commander of Kodam Jaya Colonel CPM Irsyad Hamdie Bey Anwar said his party was asking for information from the hospital regarding the illness experienced by GDW.

"This will affect the legal process. Of course, if we are sick, we cannot process it, but we are still waiting why the person concerned cannot be examined," said Irsyad.

Currently, GDW still cannot respond when asked questions. Therefore, his party can only observe at the RSPAD.

"I coordinated with the Kodam health department to check again. So now what we can do is observation at the RSPAD," he said.

If the medical results concerned are not possible for legal processing, then they will not be prosecuted.

The police have arrested GDW (29) a motorist who went against the direction that caused a series of accidents on the MBZKM 25 Flyover to Cikampek, on Saturday (9/9).
