JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan's spokesman, Sudirman Said, denied the news that said PKS would revoke support for the former Governor of DKI Jakarta as a presidential candidate in 2024. The revocation of support was the result of the deliberation of the syuro assembly which was held behind closed doors.

Sudirman emphasized that to his knowledge PKS had not yet held a meeting of the syuro assembly regarding the position of prospective vice presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar.

"As far as I know, the syuro assembly has not yet tried, so I have never heard of any information or news that PKS does not support Anies," Sudirman said at a press conference in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, September 8.

Sudirman believes PKS remains committed to the charter of the change coalition that carries Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in 2024.

"We have high hopes, have optimism that PKS will stay with Pak Anies and will obey the charter. That whatever, whoever is chosen, the coalition members will support it," Sudirman explained.

Sudirman admitted that he received information that PKS would still Istiqomah support Anies, whoever the vice presidential candidate was.

"So we are waiting (the PKS syuro assembly) and we pray that the results will be good," said Sudirman.

It is known, to this day PKS has not yet decided on the election of PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as an assistant vice presidential candidate for Anies. In fact, PKS was absent at the first meeting of the coalition which was held at NasDem Tower Wednesday, September 6.
