PKS Respects The KPK Legal Process But Still The Value Of Political Pemanggiling Cak Imin

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali Sera, assessed the political summons for the examination of PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Mardani's assessment is because Cak Imin has just been appointed as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) as assistant to the presidential candidate (candidate) Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election. "I feel the feeling of calling Cak @cakimiNOW is political, the same week as the declaration," said Mardani in his X account, @MardaniAliSera, Tuesday, April 5.

Cak Imin was summoned for questioning as a witness in the corruption case in the procurement of the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). The case occurred when Cak Imin tackled the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) in 2012.

However, Mardani respects the process of investigating the case being handled by the KPK. He hopes that the process will run transparently and fairly.

"It's a good idea to keep it together so that all processes take place transparently and fairly. We respect @KPK_RI working professionally, I'm sure they will continue to work professionally," said Mardani.

The Cak Imin-Anies duet was declared in Surabaya, East Java on Saturday, September 2, 2023. The declaration was shortly after the Democrats admitted that they were not involved in the determination of Cak Imin as an assistant vice presidential candidate for Anies on Thursday, August 31.

The emergence of the name Cak Imin accompanying Anies is the result of NasDem and PKB political cooperation. Cak Imin is said to be holding the General Chairperson of the Democrats Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono alias AHY, who was previously predicted to be Anies' companion.

Anies was originally a candidate for Nasdem, PKS and Democrats who were members of the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP). Meanwhile, Cak Imin is part of the PKB, a colleague of Gerindra, a member of the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) who has now changed its name to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

Meanwhile, regarding the opportunity to be questioned by Cak Imin in the 2012 Ministry of Manpower corruption case, the KPK had submitted before the declaration of the Anies-Cak Imin duet in Surabaya.

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur emphasized that those who became officials at the Ministry of Manpower during the alleged corruption in the procurement of the Ministry of Manpower's TKI protection system would be summoned.

"All officials in the tempus (time) it is possible for us to ask for information," said Asep at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, September 1.
