Cak Imin Will Be Examined By The Ministry Of Manpower Corruption Case, KPK: Just Wait For Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) does not want to talk much about the summoning of the General Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin tomorrow, Tuesday, September 5.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in response to information circulating tomorrow that Cak Imin would be investigated regarding the corruption case in the procurement of the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). He will be questioned because he serves as Minister of Manpower (Menaker) for the 2009-2014 period.

"Tomorrow, we'll just have to wait," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, September 4.

Although he has not answered firmly about Cak Imin's examination, Ali hopes that he will fulfill the summons as a witness. This is because the letter as a condition for summoning has been submitted.

"Once again, we hope that we will be present in accordance with the summons that have been given or sent. The schedule for examining witnesses at the KPK is always starting at 10," he said.

"So tomorrow friends, just wait. We hope that whoever is called by the KPK is present according to the summons," Ali continued.

The opportunity to summon Cak Imin has indeed been conveyed by Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur. He said anyone who knew the case would be questioned without exception.

"All officials at the tempus (time) it is possible for us to ask for information," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, September 1. "Why? Because we have to get the clearest possible information, don't let A accuse B, and we don't ask for information about B then B, it's odd," he continued.

As previously reported, the KPK said that there were three suspects named in the corruption case at the Ministry of Manpower. Although the KPK has not yet submitted it, the Secretary of the Planning and Development Agency of the Ministry of Manpower I Nyoman Darmanta is reportedly involved. The value of the information system procurement project which is suspected to be the result of the perpetrators reaching around Rp. 20 billion. Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata said that this system was allegedly corrupted so that in the end it could not be used to monitor migrant workers. Only computers can be used to type and so on.
