Police Map Public Figures Promote Online Gambling

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri, is massively eradicating gambling practices. In fact, one of the steps being taken is to map out public figures who participate in promoting online gambling.

"Currently we are monitoring, profiling and collecting data first," said Director of Cyber Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Adi Vivid when confirmed, Thursday, August 31.

So far, Wulan Guritno, who is known to have promoted online gambling sites. This was revealed after the Twitter account @Partai Soccer uploaded a video clip of the promotion.

Bareskrim also plans to clarify Wulan Guritno regarding the video. However, the time has not been confirmed.

"What is clear is not this week," said Vivid.

As previously reported, Bareskrim Polri asked influencers to stop promoting online gambling sites. If you continue to do so, the criminal process can be applied with a penalty of 6 years in prison or a fine of Rp. 1 billion.

The criminal witness is contained in Article 44 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (2) of the ITE Law.

"Regarding the issue, influencers can wear ITE Shrimp," said Vivid.

The eradication of online gambling will be carried out massively. This is because gambling only has a bad impact on the community.

"I have firmly said to my influencers, artists, celebrities to stop right now and promote gambling, remember that there are already many victims," said Vivid.
