KPU Chair Asks Its Members To Work Professionally

MANADO - KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari hopes that all KPU members will always be ready and work based on professional principles, carefully, under the law, accountably, on time and transparently.

"Take advantage of this coordination meeting as a means to share information with each other. If there are regions facing lawsuits, it can be a lesson for other regions," said Hasyim during the Coordination Meeting on Mapping Potential for Wave II Law Problems in Manado as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 30. He said areas that had no problems, should share experiences on how the strategy would not be disputed by others.

Hasyim explained that until now, at least 77 cases have been reported to Bawaslu nationally.

In disputes and administrative violations, the KPU has always been the respondent in Bawaslu, if there is a lawsuit in the Administrative Court, the KPU as the defendant and then if there is a dispute over the results, the KPU as the respondent in the Constitutional Court.

For cases per person, KPU personnel if suspected of violating the code of ethics become defendants in the DKPP. North Sulawesi KPU chairman Kenly Poluan gave his appreciation to the Indonesian KPU for choosing North Sulawesi as the location of the coordination meeting.

"We are always ready to host other division agendas that will be organized by the Indonesian KPU," he said.
