WFH 50 Percent Of ASN Ineffectively Reduce Traffic Density, The Proof Is Jakarta Congestion Only Down 4 Percent

JAKARTA - The work from home (WFH) policy which has been implemented for three days for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is able to reduce traffic density by about four percent.

The WFH policy with a capacity of 50 percent for DKI ASN has been in effect since August 21, 2023.

"From the results of the discussion, the Director of Traffic (Directorate of Traffic) whispered that the impact was four percent reduced traffic, not bad," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 23.

The WFH policy for DKI Jakarta ASN, said Heru, was not only taken to make the ASEAN Summit a success, but also to reduce the poor air pollution in the capital city.

"Therefore, help the local government. The local government has carried out a 'work from home' on the 21st so that on the 5.6.7th, air pollution will decrease slightly," said Heru.

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has also continued to monitor traffic since the implementation of the WFH policy for DKI Jakarta Provincial Government ASN (Pemprov).

Based on data from the DKI Transportation Agency on August 21, 2023, the traffic volume was recorded at 6,954,805 vehicles per day. This figure increased by 1.34 percent (92,162 vehicles) compared to August 14 with a traffic volume of 6,862,643 vehicles per day.

"The increase in vehicle volume on August 21 was due to community activities, resulting in an increase in traffic volume," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo.

Then, on August 22, 2023, the volume of traffic was 6,541,706 vehicles per day or decreased by 4.69 percent (down 321,787 vehicles) when compared to August 15 with a traffic volume of 6,863,493 vehicles per day.

Syafrin said the traffic volume was monitored from 49 Dishub analytic camera points. The results of the monitoring recorded by the DKI Transportation Agency cover the total volume of traffic per day, during morning peak hours, which is 06.00-10.00 WIB and in the afternoon at 16.00-20.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, the ASN of the DKI Provincial Government implemented a trial of the WFH work mechanism was 23,343 people.

"The evaluation will also continue to be carried out by continuing to monitor the volume of vehicle traffic to find out the effectiveness of the WFH policy as an effort to reduce the level of air pollution in Jakarta," said Syafrin.

The implementation of WFH is in accordance with the Circular Letter (SE) of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta Province Number 34/SE/2023 concerning the Implementation of Official Affairs from Home (WFH).
