Judicial Commission To Monitor The Mining Corruption Session Of PT AMG East Lombok At The Mataram District Court

The Judicial Commission (KY) will monitor the trial of the alleged corruption of the iron sand mine PT Anugrah Mitra Graha (AMG) in the Dedalpak Block, East Lombok. The trial was held at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court (PN).

KY NTB Liaison Office Coordinator Ridho Ardian Pratama stated that the monitoring process for the NTB KY Liaison Office was waiting for directions from the central KY in Jakarta.

"We will definitely go down (monitoring the trial). Now we are just waiting for directions from the center whether to monitor it openly or behind closed doors," he said in Mataram, NTB, Monday, August 21, which was confiscated by Antara.

Ridho said that his party proposed to the central KY that monitoring be carried out openly.

"In a sense, not all of our trial agendas are monitored openly. However, on crucial trial agendas," he said.

Untuk pemantauan sidang secara terbuka, kata dia, KY harus menyampaikan hal tersebut kepada Ketua PN Mataram.

"Because in an open monitoring, we will install a monitoring tool. We must first convey that to the chairman of the court," he said.

Furthermore, Ridho explained that monitoring the trial of the alleged corruption case in this mining activity actually had a positive goal, namely to support the court's efforts to maintain the judiciary.

"That is our goal, to maintain the judiciary, ensure that the trial runs in accordance with the rules and regulations, there is no intervention or anything that runs outside the rules of the procedural law," said Ridho.

The Mataram District Court has scheduled the first trial of the alleged corruption of the iron sand mine on Thursday, August 24, with the defendants PO Suwandi and Rinus Adam Wakum.

The trial will be held at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court with the composition of the panel of judges Isrin Surya Kurniasih as chairman along with members of the career judge Lalu Mohamad Sandi Iramaya and judge ad hoc corruption Djoko Soepriyono.

Dalam agenda tersebut, Kejati NTB mengerahkan sebanyak 10 jaksa untuk mengawal sidang.

Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, said that the 10 prosecutors who acted as public prosecutors consisted of the NTB Attorney General's Office and the East Lombok Kejari.

The 10 prosecutors who are included in the list of public prosecutors are Sigit Nur Cahyo, Yoga Mualim, Moh. Isa Ansyori, Dian Purnama, Ema Muliawati, Fajar Alamsyah Malo, I Komang Prasetya, Hasan Basri, Muhamad Mauludin, and Abdirun Luga Harlianto.

The two defendants in this case came from PT AMG with Rinus Adam Wakum position as Branch Head of PT AMG East Lombok Region and PO Suwandi as Director of PT AMG.

The prosecutor's office named both of them as suspects in different periods. First, on March 13, 2023, the results of the case title determined Rinus as a suspect along with former Head of the NTB ESDM Service Zainal Abidin.

A month later, on April 13, 2023, the prosecutor's office again revealed the role of the new suspect, namely PO Suwandi. The prosecutor's office arrested PO Suwandi after undergoing an examination in Jakarta.

Against the two suspects, investigators applied the allegations of Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

At this stage of prosecution, the prosecutor has entrusted the detention of the two at the Class II A Prison in West Lombok.
