East Java Becomes The Province With The Most Students Accepted By PTN 2023

The Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa stated that the area he leads is again the province with the most number of students accepted in the National Selection Based on Achievements (SNBP) and National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) in 2023.

"Alhamdulillah, in 2023, East Java will again be the most students received at state universities (PTN), either on lanes without tests or SNBP or with tests or SNBT," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15.

Khofifah said that on the SNBP 2023 route, a total of 23,477 students graduated from SMA/SMK East Java who were successfully accepted by PTN. This number ranks first nationally.

As for the SNBT route, a total of 35,862 East Java students were successfully accepted at PTN. That number also ranks first nationally.

"This achievement maintains East Java's achievements for four consecutive years for students, the most received by PTN without a test since 2020. Likewise for the path with our tests we have also managed to maintain achievements since 2021," he said.

According to him, this achievement cannot be separated from the role of teachers and school principals who optimally provide intensive assistance to students by conducting many exam simulations or various questions.

This step is considered by Khofifah to be the most effective in preparing students to face the questions that are tested as well as the level of difficulty.

"These two PTN selection pathways are not easy. The competitors are hundreds of thousands, and very strict. Moreover, the new rules for this year's SNBT models certainly make teachers and school principals have to think seriously about formulating strategies so that students are accepted into the intended PTN," he said.

The Governor of East Java stated the success of students entering PTN either without a test or through a test thanks to the careful preparation of the teachers and the seriousness of the students.

According to Khofifahhal, socialization needs to be carried out as early as possible so that students prepare their academic achievements carefully.

"It is even possible that if the preparations made are very mature, our students will not only receive the most domestic PTN but can also be accepted at foreign universities," he said.

On the SNBP route this year, East Java is also the area where the most students are accepted by PTN using KIP Lectures. It was recorded that 5,624 East Java students were accepted. Meanwhile, in second place, Aceh occupied with 3,956 students. This number contains a large difference of 1,668 students (42.16%).

In 2022, East Java also ranked first nationally with the highest acceptance of KIP Lectures on the SNBP route, which was 4,391 participants.

"This achievement is certainly proof that our students have superior competencies that deserve to compete with other regions," said Khofifah.
