JAKARTA - Russia is developing a new control system for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which can combat electronic warfare devices, being developed by Russia at the National Technological Initiative (NTI) Center for Technologies in Robotics and Mechanics Components at the Innopolis University, Tatarstan.

"Russia has developed a new system to control drones. This system makes it possible to tackle electronic warfare," NTI Project Support Fund told TASS.

According to NTI Project Support Fund Director General Vadim Medvedev, this step aims to substitute imports and increase the reliability of manufactured goods, as well as accelerate the mass production of new types of unmanned aerial systems for the domestic market.

"This will cut the time it takes to develop new drones up to 1.7 times and reduce costs by 30 percent. This development is carried out at the NTI Competency Center in the field of Robotics and Mekatronics Component Technology at the University of Innopolis," he explained.

It is known, potential consumers for this new breakthrough product can include industrial drone manufacturers.

In addition, NTI Project Support Fund said a school had opened in Russia to teach pilots to control agricultural drones.

The company intends to train up to 100,000 people by 2030, using its own software and about 2,000 high-tech systems.
