BENGKALIS - Deputy Head of Administration for Palm Oil Factory (PKS) PT Sawit Agung Sejahtera (SAS) Robert Herry Son (22) was finally named a suspect in the harassment case against the symbol of the Red and White flag state. "The suspect violated Article 66 of the State Law Number 24 of 2009 concerning the Flag, Language, and State Emblem as well as the National Anthem," said Bengkalis Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Firman Fadhilah in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, Antara, Sunday, August 13. The incident took place on Thursday, August 10. At that time, a witness who is also an employee of PKS PT SAS saw that a dog around his neck was wrapped in the red and white flag, then looking for who put the flag on. At that time the witness met the suspect. Robert Herry Son admitted that the one who put the flag on the dog's neck on the previous Wednesday in front of the PKS Office of PT SAS, Muara Basung Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. The suspect argued that putting the Red and White flag around the dog's neck was decoration to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day. "He said that this country is a democracy, let alone the dog is independent," he said. For the incident, employees and witnesses were not happy, then reported the incident to the Pinggir Police Office for further processing. On Friday (11/8), the suspect surrendered. The next process, the suspect was examined. From the results of the case title, the suspect was finally detained. It was also said that the evidence that was secured was a small Red and White flag. In addition, one flash drive contains a recorded video on the neck of a dog with the Red and White flag attached. Meanwhile, Robert Herry Son has apologized to the Indonesian people who were hurt by his actions of putting a flag on the dog's neck. The suspect admitted that he did not intend to insult and harass the Red and White flag. He did this only spontaneously and raised enthusiasm to commemorate Indonesian Independence Day.

"I apologize and realize that this act is inappropriate and willing to accept the consequences for this incident. I do not intend to harass the symbol of the state by putting the flag on the dog's neck," he said.
