The South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Regional Police have examined as many as 14 witnesses related to the alleged corruption in the process of dismantling building materials and land piled up by the former Mattoangin Andi Matalatta Stadium which was dismantled some time ago by the Provincial Government.

"In connection with the Mattoangin Stadium issue, which knows some of it has been examined. Yesterday it has led to a supervisory consultant," said Director of the South Sulawesi Police Ditreskrimsus Kombes Helmi Kwarta Rauf in Makassar as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.

The South Sulawesi Regional Police are currently still waiting for the results of the calculation examination from the Inspectorate and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency or BPKP regarding the alleged state losses related to this matter.

"We are still waiting for the results of the calculation of the Inspectorate and BPKP regarding the Mattoangin Stadium and are still waiting regarding the planning consultant and team," said Helmi.

The police, he said, are also waiting for the results of the calculation of the Inspectorate and BPKP regarding state financial losses.

"It will be conveyed later because we are still waiting, including having led to the supervisory consultant at the Mattoangin Stadium," he explained.

Previously, the Corruption Crime Team of the South Sulawesi Regional Police's Ditreskrimsus detected allegations of corruption related to the contract value of the stadium construction planning amounting to Rp4 billion, but down to Rp1 billion.

In addition, there were indications of the game in the sale of building materials and assets after being dismantled on October 21, 2020, which was not stated in the contract even though there was a selling value there.

Meanwhile, for building materials and land piles of Mattoangin Stadium, it is known that 10 thousand cubic meters are allegedly sold for the Green Open Land (RTH) construction project built by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) on Jalan Dr Ratulangi Makassar.

Separately, Deputy Chairperson of the External Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC) Sulawesi Anggareksa supports Law Enforcement Officials (APH) to continue investigating the alleged corruption case of the stadium construction plan, which has now stalled for more than two years after being demolished.

"It is necessary to investigate whether the dismantling material and the pile of the stadium funds go into the state treasury or not. Because it should be suspected that there was a game of the planning consultants and their supervisors in this case," he said.
