Police Confiscate Thousands Of Liters Of Tuak Transported By Cars In Tasikmalaya

TASIKMALAYA - The Tasikmalaya City Police confiscated thousands of liters of traditional tuak liquor from the Avanza car that was about to be transported for sale in the Tasikmalaya City area, West Java.

"A car carrying thousands of liters of palm wine has been secured during the KRYD (enhanced routine activities) implementation," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Tasikmalaya Police, Ipda Jajang Kurniawan, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

He said that the ready-to- distribution liquor was successfully caught by the operation carried out by the Tasikmalaya City Police Samapta Unit on Jalan Gunung Sabeulah, Cipedes District, Tasikmalaya City, Monday (7/8) night.

A number of personnel who were carrying out routine patrols, he said, suspected that the Avanza car was traveling in the Tasikmalaya City area, then stopped and checked.

As a result, he continued, there were thousands of liters of palm wine that were packaged in plastic, then covered again by tarpaulins so they were not seen directly when taken by car.

From the confession of the driver and the person in the car, the wine type was deliberately taken from the Banjar City area to the City of Tasikmalaya.

"From his confession that palm wine comes from Banjar City and will be circulated in the Tasikmalaya City area," he said.

All of the tuak liquor, along with the car, then the driver and one person as the kernet were secured to the Tasikmalaya City Police Headquarters for further legal examination.

"We have secured all evidence of alcohol, vehicles, drivers, and assistants to the Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings," said Jajang.
