Banda Aceh Mayor Respects The Legal Process Of Corruption Cases With The Suspect Head Of PUPR

BANDA ACEH - Acting Mayor of Banda Aceh Amiruddin respects the legal process related to the alleged corruption case in the land acquisition for the construction of the Banda Aceh Nurul Arafah Islamic Center (NAIC) which is being handled by the police.

"Of course above all and the main thing is that we respect every legal process that is currently underway in the police as the authorities," Amiruddin said as quoted by ANTARA, Seras, August 8.

Previously, the Banda Aceh Police Satreskrim named the Head of the Banda Aceh PUPR Service M Yasir as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the land acquisition case of Zikr Nurul Arafah Islamic Center in Gampong Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh.

The Head of PUPR Banda Aceh is suspected of not exercising his authority in the land acquisition of the Zikr Nurul Arafah Islamic Center.

Related to this, said Amiruddin, there are things that should not be forgotten, namely the principle of presumption of innocence to remain put forward before there is permanent legal force or court inkrah decision.

"This principle applies to all citizens, not only city government officials. We are all the same before the law," he said.

The Mayor of Banda Aceh invited all parties to be patient waiting for further developments that are currently being processed by the police.

"What is clear is that we do not intervene," he said.

To avoid the vacancy of echelon two positions at the Banda Aceh PUPR Service, his party immediately held a meeting to appoint an executor.

"As soon as possible so that government programs and wheels can continue to run well for the benefit of the community," said Amiruddin.

In the case of land acquisition for zhikr, the audit of the BPKP Representative for Aceh calculated that the activity had caused state financial losses of more than Rp1 billion from three parcels of land belonging to gampong.

In addition to the Head of PUPR Banda Aceh, the Banda Aceh Police Satreskrim has also named two other suspects, namely the former keuchik (village head) and the Head of the Village Government Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh.
