Jokowi Volunteers In East Java Declaration Of Meeting With Presidential Candidate Prabowo

Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate will receive the support of Joko Widodo Volunteers (Jokowi) throughout East Java in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"We captured a message of blessing from Pak Jokowi for Pak Prabowo's support," said Jokowi Volunteer Coordinator throughout East Java, Afifuddin in his statement quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.

According to him, people from various elements are increasingly providing support for Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to move forward to continue President Jokowi's leadership in the 2024 presidential election.

This support is a concrete proof of Jokowi's blessing with Prabowo to continue sustainable achievements and development for Indonesia.

Afifuddin said the support was conveyed during the declaration of Jokowi volunteers supporting Prabowo's presidential candidate in Ponorogo, East Java, last Sunday. The declaration was attended by various nodes in the East Java region including Tuban, Bojonegoro, Lamongan, Tulungagung, Blitar, Trenggalek, Kediri, and throughout Mataraman.

"We as loyal followers, unite determination, straighten intentions, and solidize votes giving to Pak Prabowo Subianto to continue his leadership relay as President in 2024-2029," he said.

This support, he continued, was carried out by the initiation of volunteers as a real attitude to realize sustainable development for the right person and understand Jokowi's vision of work while leading national development.

"We unite our support for our own encouragement by encouraging Pak Jokowi's signal. Pak Prabowo is the right person because he understands, sees every step of Pak Jokowi's decision in doing great work in the national sector," he said.

In addition, Prabowo is considered to have proven his loyalty to Jokowi and was able to carry out the tasks given to the community. Prabowo's competence as a leader was proven by the brilliant performance of the Ministry of Defense so that the performance of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet won a high "approval rating" report card.

"Pak Prabowo proved his work as Minister of Defense and answered his doubts with a slick record as the best minister. As a result, President Jokowi's performance achieved high appreciation from the community thanks to Pak Prabowo's performance as minister," said the man who is familiarly called Afif.

Volunteer support, he said, also sees aspects of Indonesia's challenges in the future. Indonesia needs leaders who understand global competition and dare to provide solutions.

"We, together with the people of East Java, will guerrilla introducing Pak Prabowo as Pak Jokowi's successor to the people of East Java. We realize that it is important to provide simultaneous support so that development in accordance with the ideals of the proclamation can be realized," said Afif.

Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
