SAMARINDA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin stated that the existence of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago will become a new magnet of economic growth and encourage trade flow in the East Kalimantan region (Kaltim).
"The (IKN) move is expected to increase investment and reduce the gap between regions in Indonesia," said Ma'ruf Amin during the inauguration of the East Kalimantan Province Regional Economic and Financial Committee at the Odah Etam building, Samarinda, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 4.
The transfer of the nation's capital, continued the Vice President, is expected to have a double impact with more equitable development throughout the Republic of Indonesia and inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The Vice President also appreciated the efforts of local governments and stakeholders in developing Islamic economics and finance in the region.
"In realizing this vision, several sectors in East Kalimantan Province are the main focus," said the Vice President.
The sector, according to the Vice President, includes the halal industry sector to encourage the development of a value chain ecosystem for equipment, including facilitation of halal certification for NKRI products and strengthening the upstream sector.
"The main goal is to achieve the target of 10 million halal-certified residents by 2024," he said.
