Bakung TPA Waste Allegedly Leaked, Bandarlampung DLH Denies: It's Called Rainy Seasonal Waste Causes Water Genangan

LAMPUNG - Head of the Bandarlampung City Environment Agency (DLH) Budiman P. Mega stated that there was no leakage or damage to the waste waterways at the Bakung Final Disposal Site (TPA).

"Nothing has been leaked, the name is garbage if it is sometimes burned that summer and if the rainy season causes puddles," he said in Bandarlampung, Lampung Province, Wednesday, August 2, which was confiscated by Antara.

The waste water that comes out and inundates to residential areas around the Bakung TPA, he said, is because the drains or filters are buried by landslides.

"The water coming out of the drainage piles of garbage, we have seen it, there are no leaks, it's landslides and it happens to cover the waterways at the Bakung TPA," he said.

In order to overcome the wastewater problem, the local DLH has carried out work using heavy equipment to clean the buried locations.

"We have done the work from last month, by renting heavy equipment to clean the area so that the drainage runs smoothly again," he said.

DLH Bandarlampung City has proposed to the sub-district and local sub-district heads in the TPA Bakung area, looking for temporary solutions to distribute wastewater to other locations.

"Of course, later we will fix the waste water channel and it has been included in the Revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) 2023, but for its implementation in 2024," he said.
