TANGERANG - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia or InJourney Airports implements Automated Tray Returned System (ATRS) technology at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

With this technology, the examination is much faster than before.

This ATRS technology is placed in a security checkpoint area before the aircraft passengers enter the flight boarding waiting room.

InJourney Airport President Director Faik Fahmi explained, with the application of ATRS technology at this security checkpoint, passengers who come no longer need to remove electronic goods or mineral water from the bags they carry.

"So the process can be fast, why? Passengers who come do not need to take out a laptop. There is no need to emit mineral water, so it can be detected directly through the system we have," he said at Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Friday, December 20.

Furthermore, Faik explained that if passenger luggage later requires further inspection, there will be a shift to a special lane so that it will not interfere with the queue behind it.

"If there is a baggage (content) that needs to be checked, it will also immediately move to a special lane. So it doesn't disturb the person behind it," he explained.

Faik also said that this ATRS technology could increase services to 500 people per hour. While previously only 200 people.

Karena yang biasa itu jam paling 200 orang. Kalau ini (ATRS) sehari bisa 500 orang. Bahkan kalau petugasnya sudah lebih proggit, sudah terbiasa, mungkin bisa sampai 600, katanya.

"So hopefully with this latest ATRS concept. The flow of passengers, which has become a lot of passenger concepts, due to piles in the SCP (Security Checkpoint) area, can be resolved," he continued.

Currently, said Faik, there are two ATRS tools installed at Soetta Airport. Where the initial stage of using this technology is only for security checkpoints on domestic flights.

"This is while we have two first, we will evaluate it later. But what is clear is that later we will develop it, including internationally. For other airports," he said.
