Karawang Regency Government Bans ASN From Using 3 Kg Subsidy Elpiji

KARAWANG - The Government of Karawang Regency, West Java, prohibits state civil servants (ASN) within the local government from using subsidized LPG or gas cylinders containing 3 kilograms. "We have given them TPP or additional employee income, so they will definitely be able to buy non-subsidized LPG," he said. Hotels and restaurants in Karawang are also prohibited from using subsidized LPG. Except for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with a profit of IDR 5 million per month, they are allowed to use 3 kilograms of LPG. "I remind all of us to be aware that the 3 kilogram LPG gas is a subsidy item. Those who can't afford it are the ones who are most entitled to this subsidy," Cellica said. The Regent said that his party had held a coordination meeting with the Chairman of Hiswana Migas in the Karawang-Purwakarta area, to evaluate the distribution of 3 kilograms of LPG. Meanwhile, the Public Self-Relational Consumer Protection Agency (LPKSM) Linkar urged the Karawang Regency Government to increase supervision of the distribution of 3 kilograms of subsidized LPG. This was conveyed because the Karawang Police previously revealed a case of misuse of subsidized LPG in Karawang. "The distribution of subsidized LPG must be improved. The supervision must also be improved. That is necessary to prevent subsidized LPKSM chairman Eddy Djunaedi from misappropriating LPKSM, said. He said the occurrence of subsidized LPG misappropriation was not only detrimental to the state. People as consumers are also harmed by this incident.
