Johnny G Plate Receives Money Deposit From BAKTI's Managing Director Through Secretary

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate was charged with receiving deposits from the defendant Anang Achmad Latief of Rp. 500 million every month. The receipt was mentioned through his secretary.

This was revealed based on the statement of the Head of the Lastmile and Backhaul Division of BAKTI Kominfo Muhammad Feriandi Mirza who was presented as a witness in the trial of the alleged corruption case in the provision of 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure for the 2020-2022 period.

It started when the Public Prosecutor (JPU) questioned Mirza about whether or not there was a gift of money or facilities to Johnny G Plate.

At that time, Mirza said that there was money given from Anang Achmad Latief as President Director of Bakti Kominfo to the defendant Johnny G Plate in the amount of Rp. 500 million every month.

But the money was not given directly to the former Minister of Communication and Information. The money was given through his secretary named Heppy.

"As far as I know, I got it from Mr. Anang, but this was not conveyed directly to Johnny but to his secretary Heppy in the amount of Rp. 500 million per month," Mirza said during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday, July 25.

"There are 500 million per month for Jhonny through the secretary?" asked the prosecutor asserted.

"Yes, Mr. Anang did say that he did not mention Johnny but was given to Heppy," said Mirza.

"During the month?" said the prosecutor, Mirza answered, did not know clearly about it.

In the indictment, Johnny G Plate is said to have received a deposit from Anang Achmad Latief of Rp. 500 million each month. In total, the former Minister of Communication and Information received around Rp. 10 billion.
