Bekasi Regency Government Issues Circular On The Prohibition Of Operations For Night Entertainment Places Ahead Of The Islamic New Year

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, issued a circular regarding the prohibition on the operation of Night Entertainment Places (THM) from entering the Islamic New Year 1445 Hijri in order to maintain the conducive area as well as the solemn and solemn celebration of the religious holiday. The Bekasi Regent's Circular numbered KK.02/SE-57/SATPOL PP dated July 17, 2023 contains a number of provisions prohibiting THM from operating ahead of the implementation of the Islamic New Year to coincide with July 19, 2023. "Usually filled with religious activities since the previous day or tomorrow, we will circulate this letter with the aim of creating peace and public order," said Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan in Cikarang, Antara, Monday, July 17. He explained that the THM operational ban as stated in this circular refers to Bekasi Regency Regulation Number 3 of 2016 concerning the implementation of tourism in the area. In Article 47 paragraph 1 point 1 where the regional regulation in question states the prohibition of types of tourism businesses which have been allegedly violated by THM entrepreneurs in Bekasi Regency. Dani asked THM entrepreneurs to stop business operations starting Tuesday (18/7) in order to maintain the solemnity and defamation of the celebration of the Islamic New Year 1445 Hijri. "Entrepreneurs at nightclubs should stop their businesses from July 18, 2023, until an indefinite time limit," he said. The local government through the Bekasi Regency Satpol PP has circulated the letter to all THM entrepreneurs to be understood and obeyed. Violators of this provision will be given sanctions in accordance with statutory provisions.

"If we violate the points on this circular, we will impose sanctions based on the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 54 of 2011 concerning standard operating procedures for the Civil Service Police Unit," he said.
