Projo Chairman Budi Arie Officially Replaces Johnny G Plate As Minister Of Communication And Information

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated Budi Arie as Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), replacing Johnny G Plate. The inauguration was held at the State Palace, Jakarta today, Monday, July 17. From the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, the activity began by singing the song Indonesia Raya. Then Presidential Decree Number 62 P of 2023 concerning the Appointment of the Minister of Communications and Information for Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the Period of 20199-2024 was read out. Budi Arie was then taken the oath guided by President Jokowi. "By God I promise, that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations in as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said Budi Arie, guided by Jokowi. "That I in carrying out my duties and positions will uphold the ethics of my position, work as well as possible with a full sense of responsibility," continued the Chairman of Pro Jokowi Volunteers (Jokowi). The inauguration was attended by a number of ministers from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet such as Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Menseskab Pramono Anung, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of SOE Erick Thohir. Then there is Chairman of the Advisory Council President Wiryanto, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman, and Acting Chairperson of the PPP who is also Presidential Special Envoy Muhamad Mardiono.

For information, Budi Arie established a volunteer group supporting Jokowi since August 2013. Before serving as Minister of Communication and Information, he had received a position as Deputy Minister of PDTT Village. Meanwhile, Johnny G Plate, who is a politician from the NasDem Party, was removed from his position due to his involvement in the alleged corruption case of the 4G base transceiver station (BTS) tower procurement project. His position was replaced by Mahfud MD who was always the executor of the task (Plt).
