The existence of street vendors (PKL) in the Warung Jambu area, Tanah Cereal, Bogor is increasingly troubling local residents, especially shop owners (store houses).

They assessed that the existence of street vendors interfered with shophouse activities in the area, besides disturbing the aesthetic side of one of the main roads in the city of Bogor. Currently, there are many permanent illegal buildings belonging to street vendors in the area, most of which cover shop houses in the Jambu area.

It is even suspected that the illegal building was used by street vendors as a place to sell liquor without a permit. The presence of the liquor seller is very clear and clearly visible because it is in a wild building located at the entrance to the shophouse, Warung Jambu.

Chairman of the Ruko Family Association (IKR) Hartono Yarmantho, who oversees 16 Ruko Warung Jambu, said that his party had planned to renovate the Green Open Space (RTH) around their shophouse. Large trees that have covered PLN cables will also be tidied up because of the risk of fire.

"We also intend to repaint our entrance to the parking lot to make our shophouses comfortable to visit and be seen directly from the road," he explained.

However, according to Hartono, this effort was blocked by unscrupulous mass organizations who rented out land to street vendors.

"The mass organization has created a branch post that is very close to the shophouse which was built in the middle of the highway park to "protect" the street vendors," he said.

Hartono admitted, basically his party has never prevented people from selling and making a living. "But please sell in the official place that has been provided. Don't cover up our shophouse business because we pay PBB taxes, business taxes, and other taxes that are quite large every year, and not to mention our employees that we have to pay attention to. If our efforts are disturbed by mass organizations, RT, street vendors, and alcohol, how is it possible that our shophouse economy will rise from its post-pandemic slump," he explained.

Regarding alcohol, his party has reported it to the Bogor City Satpol PP. The police have also taken the money. In March 2023, 189 bottles of alcohol from a grocery store in front of Plaza Jambu Dua, Tanah Sareal, were confiscated by the Bogor Police in a raid conducted to create conduciveness in the Bogor City area.

Meanwhile, the demolition of the street vendor stall was carried out in February 2021 by dozens of joint officers. The demolition is a follow-up to the Bogor City Government's plan to convert the area into a Shelter terminal, park, and sidewalk.

However, the fact is that the development has not yet been implemented. In fact, street vendors came again after being arrested by mass organizations, which are a complicated problem for the country because they always violate the rules.
