Beside The Wife Who Fell Asleep, Uncle Bejat In Bengkulu Raped His Nephew Repeatedly

The Rejang Lebong Police arrested a man who was forced against his own underage nephew.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Rejang Lebong Police, Iptu Denyfita Mochtar, said that the rape was carried out by the suspect repeatedly followed by threats against the victim. "This case was carried out by the suspect with the victim being a minor who is the nephew of the wife of the suspect. The suspect was arrested by Curup Police officers after previously receiving a report from the victim's brother on June 15, 2023 yesterday," he said at the Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters, Bengkulu, Tuesday, June 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

Denyfita said the suspect had the initials Ef (42), a resident of Central Curup District, Rejang Lebong Regency.

Meanwhile, the victim F (15), has been living with EF's family as a fish trader in the Upper Market Curup area for the past 15 months.

The Head of Curup Police, Iptu Singgih Wirastho, added that this victim was a child who dropped out of school and joined the suspect's wife. At the suspect's house, the victim slept in the middle room every night with his wife and children.

Ef's lecherous act was revealed when F reported his uncle's actions to the victim's brother. The older brother who knew about the depraved act when he visited F immediately reported Ef to the Curup Police.

The rape was carried out by EF from February to May 2023. The incident began when the suspect slept with his son, wife and victim in the living room of his house.

At midnight, still in the middle room, the suspect pretended to sleep near the victim who was fast. From there, rape occurred under threats that were repeated in the future.

For his actions, the suspect EF was charged with investigating officers for violating Article 76D in conjunction with Article 81 of Law No. 35/2014 concerning amendments to Law No.23/2022 concerning Child Protection with a threat of up to 15 years in prison.
