Arrested By Jambi Police, 3 Online Prostitution Admins Claim To Be Paid IDR 50-300 Thousand

JAMBI - The Sub-Directorate IV PPA Team of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the Jambi Police revealed allegations of the practice of trafficking in persons (TPPO) or online prostitution in the local area. In disclosing the alleged TIP practice, the Jambi Police secured three online prostitution admins, namely R (17), A (20) and Z (18). Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Jambi Regional Police, AKBP Kristian Adi Wibawa, said that this disclosure was made after his party received information from the public through social media related to online prostitution at a hotel in Jambi City last Wednesday. After receiving this information, the Jambi Police Ditreskrimum Sub-Directorate IV Team carried out a raid. "During the raid, two women and two male guests were found in the hotel room," he said in Jambi, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 15. After a search, the transaction proceeds amounted to Rp. 400 thousand from online prostitution. These three online prostitution administrators have their respective roles. R is still a minor, A is an admin for online prostitution, and Z is a hotel customer. The results of online prostitution can reach Rp. 1 million. Meanwhile, Kristian said, every guest for female victims gets Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 1 million. Meanwhile, for the perpetrators in one meeting with the victim, the perpetrators can get around Rp. 50,000 to Rp. 300 thousand. The perpetrator and the evidence have been secured, such as cellphones, cash, and contraceptives.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 76F in conjunction with Article 83 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison.
