Supreme Court Proposes Additional Budget Of IDR 2.1 Trillion For 2024

JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) proposed an additional 2024 budget ceiling of IDR 2.11 trillion in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission III of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday 12 June.

"MA proposed an additional budget for the 2024 budget ceiling of IDR 2.11 trillion," said the Daily Executive (Plh) Secretary of the Supreme Court Sugiyanto.

He explained that the proposed additional budget included 130,870 additional cases for case settlement activities in court level appeals and the first level of cases.

Furthermore, the technical guidance of ASN clerks and bailiffs was 1,020 people. Circular hearings within the military court environment to access to justice and protection activities for women who are in conflict with the law and judicial processes within the jurisdiction of state administration.

He said the Supreme Court's indicative ceiling for 2024 was based on the Letter of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas amounting to Rp11.15 trillion. The budget was allocated for the government program of Rp205.57 billion, the general justice body Rp142.65 billion, the religious judiciary body Rp123.47 billion, the military justice body and state administration Rp29.16 billion, the administrative affairs agency Rp10.41 trillion, the supervisory body Rp77.04 billion, the research agency, development, education, legal training, and justice amounting to Rp162.18 billion.

Sugiyanto explained that the Supreme Court budget ceiling for 2023 was IDR 12.25 trillion with absorption as of June 5, 2023 of IDR 4.99 trillion or 40.73 percent. In 2023, the Supreme Court will experience a budget reserve policy or "automatic adjusmant" of IDR 886.68 billion.

"When compared to the 2023 budget ceiling, there will be a decrease in the budget of IDR 1.1 trillion," he said.
