Densely Populated House Fire In Kemayoran, One Resident Injured

JAKARTA - The village head of Kebon Blank, Alfalas said, the fire incident that occurred in his area only burned one unit of a resident's house.

The cause of the fire is suspected to have been an electrical short circuit.

"One house caught fire. It is suspected that the fire occurred due to an electrical short," said Alfaras village head when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, June 11.

Alfalas said that the impact of the fire was that no residents were evacuated to the refugee camps.

"There is one person injured, already under medical treatment," he said.

As is known, the object of the building that caught fire belonged to a retired member of the Indonesian Navy.

The burned area is about 30 square meters. Losses due to the fire were Rp. 60 million rupiah.

Previously, it was reported that the houses of residents made of semi-permanent buildings on Jalan RT 014/RW 05, Kebon Blank Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta, were destroyed by fire on Sunday, June 11.

Residents reported the fire incident to the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat) office at around 09.12 WIB.

A total of seven fire engines were dispatched to the fire site.

"We have deployed 35 firefighters to the location to extinguish the fire," said Head of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, June 11.

The fire began to be controlled at around 09.25 WIB.

"Currently the fire has been extinguished. The process of extinguishing the fire is about 30 minutes. The houses of the residents have been burned are semi-permanent," he said.
