TransJakarta Implements A Speed Restriction System On Buses With ECU

JAKARTA - Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) PT. TransJakarta applies a speed restriction system automatically throughout the bus fleet, both large, medium, and small, to provide security and comfort for passengers. "We have a speed restriction system of 50 kilometers per hour. The trick is to use the Electronic Control Unit (ECU)," said PT TransJakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph, when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, June 8. With this system, drivers will not be able to drive the bus above a speed of 50 kilometers per hour. In addition, he also ensured that the condition of the bus had been technically checked so as not to be damaged while operating. Not only about the physical inspection of vehicles, Joseph also emphasized the importance of all passengers being served humanely by the ranks of drivers and officers at the bus stop. Therefore, he requires all services in the field to be friendly so that the passengers feel comfortable. Member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Suhud Alynudin, previously criticized TransJakarta management because he still found the speeding TransJakarta and Jak Lingko bus drivers so that they could endanger passengers in it. "What is often complained about regarding services is the behavior of drivers who still like speeding," said the member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD in a meeting with PT TransJakarta at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Wednesday, June 7. Suhud suspects that the driver wants to be quick in implementing the 35-minute program between stops. Suhud hopes that TransJakarta buses pay attention to the safety and comfort of passengers. At the same time, Secretary of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Wa Ode Herlina, also asked PT TransJakarta to anticipate criminal acts such as pickpockets and sexual harassment on buses.
